Uh oh, you did something you bad. Now your computer is acting up and you don’t how to fix it. Well have no fear system restore is here.
Whenever you install any program, game, or software update, your computer changes. At times, these changes will make your system unstable. If that ever happens your computer has an undo option. It’s called the system restore
You can use System Restore to undo any changes that your system underwent. System Restore automatically takes a snapshot of your computers configuration and stores it. These snapshots are called restore points. Xp will create restore points periodically. A restore point is also created if their is a significant change to your computer, such as a driver installation.
Restoring your system will revert your computer back t the previous good configuration, but be advised it will not remove any personal data or applications. So data like pictures, music and yes, even viruses will remain. So it is important to use it to correct an unstable system due to a configuration change.
When using System Restore a calendar will pop up and show you all the restore points created. Simply pick the day you want to revert to and presto your system is back to that point.
Remember these restore points after a while will begin to take up your hard disk free space. Clearing unwanted restore points can free up disk space on your computer. To do so simply just read the Disk Clean tutorial .
