Making Money Online is About Experimenting

You know not everything could be measured in dollars and cents. Sometimes learning a valuable lesson is just as important. So, what I learned in April was not to put all my eggs in one basket.
I noticed that people often make the mistake of learning something and beating it to a pulp. Only to find out it didn’t work for them. SEO is the perfect example of that. Man, when I started trying to build traffic I spent so much time optimizing, keyword phrasing, etc. Just so I could get Google to pick my blog up on their search engine. Not to say that it was a total waste of time, but I could of invested my time doing something more productive. The truth of the matter is, that people create those “Top Ten” list of traffic driving because there is more than one way to skin a cat. Once I started messing around with Twitter, Social bookmarking sites, leaving comments on other blogs, etc. I saw a significant bump in my traffic. Experiment is the best advice I could say. Test and measure your results.
When it comes to actually making money online. Well, without traffic their is no money, but I learned even 10 visit’s a day can generate some income. So, to all you new starter’s, please don’t just focus on AdSense. Big no no. Adsense from my experience doesn’t really make any money until you get some decent traffic. Maybe about 250 visits a day. Even that is a low number. However, Amazon could generate some nice change just from a few sales. You know, those 10 visits you get a day turned out to be profitable. Simply because you might get a few dollars off an Amazon sale, then a few cents off an AdSense click. I would focus more on building your brand then worrying about money. For now. Try different options on your website or blog. Sign up with affiliates people recommend. Not just 1 or 2, but 10. They just might turn out to be more profitable.
Last, if it doesn’t work change it up. Try something new. I found that a bad website design could hurt you. So I would check out what others are doing. Maybe you could pickup on some ad placement tips, website schemes, and other idea’s. The good thing about blogs is that it’s as easy as a button click to change the design theme. However, a website could get tricky. Just don’t hesitate to change things up if you see you don’t have any success.
So take this lesson to the heart. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Try different techniques. Without the ability to change I feel anyone is doomed for failure. Just my two cents. Good luck.
